Poetry Peepers...
Dystopia
The stars are veiled by clouds tonight,
And our future seems unclear,
The world's just going crazy,
With some fighting there and here,
Money's thin on the ground they say,
And politicians just seem to get worse,
Panic starts to set in,
Even our heroes seem to be cursed,
Employment starts to disappear,
And the wars for work begin,
Backbiting over lost staplers,
Becomes a deadly sin,
The innocent start to get lost,
Under our need to stay in control,
Money takes precedence over life,
And greed replaces the soul,
It's a part of our pride that they take,
And our dignity that's lost,
We sell our souls down the river,
For such a lowly cost,
I'm just sat here watching,
Waiting for reason to reappear,
Meanwhile people get thinner and thinner,
Until they eventually disappear,
With all the inner turmoil,
And the daily battles in life,
I really start to wonder,
If we're meant for all this strife,
Most of our problems are self made,
Created from our own fears,
Over stupid meaningless things,
That will be worthless in a few years,
You know it doesn't really matter,
If we win or lose,
It's all about enjoying living each day,
Not the perfect destiny we choose,
